McLaren 720S Specifications

The real 720S

The 720S is not only more comfortable, but also more powerful and uncompromising. The driving force is a V8 turbo that has been bored to four liters, and two new, much faster-responding superchargers now deliver 720 hp and up to 770 Newton meters.

The 720S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, reaches the 200 km/h mark in 7.8 seconds, and anyone who can actually find a free stretch of highway can test their nerves with a top speed of 341 km/h. Even more than the longitudinal dynamics of the 720S, the 720S is also a very dynamic car. However, the Briton’s roadholding is even more impressive than its longitudinal dynamics.

The car is so well balanced and generates so much downforce that almost anything seems possible. Curve after curve, you therefore get on the brakes later, steer more sharply, get back on the gas sooner and can hardly get out of your amazement.

Of course, the more you turn the two switches for drive and chassis in the wonderfully tidy cockpit to the right in the direction of the race, the narrower the limit range becomes. But with every turn, the realization grows: Before this car reaches the limits of physics, the driver has long since exceeded his own.
