Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante Specifications

Real life DBS Superleggera Volante

Just in time for the 2019 open-air season, there are first photos of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante. V12 engine and fabric roof guarantee exquisite driving pleasure. As in the coupe, the V12 biturbo sends an output of 725 hp and 900 Newton meters of maximum torque to the rear axle. Despite an unladen weight of almost 1.9 tons, the open-top Aston sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and to a maximum of 340 km/h.

A balanced weight distribution of 50:50 between the front and rear axles is just as conducive to driving dynamics as the possible downforce, which is said to be on a par with the coupe. Pirelli P-Zero mixed tires in 21-inch format provide the connection to the road, while carbon-ceramic brakes take care of deceleration. To ensure that the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante can drive comfortably as well as sportily, the Brits relied on adaptive dampers. ZF supplies the eight-speed automatic transmission.

The DBS Superleggera Volante can seat up to four passengers – at least on paper. The soft top disappears behind the two emergency seats in 14 seconds, opening it takes two seconds longer. The Brits offer eight different soft top colors for the roof and, for the first time on a convertible, an optional A-pillar with carbon trim that extends to the soft top compartment if desired.

The interior of the open-top Aston in particular is brimming with fine materials that can be customized in a variety of ways. So it shouldn’t be hard to push the base price of 295,500 euros for the DBS Superleggera Volante even higher.
