The real Tantrum
Based on a 1970 Dodge Charger, SpeedKore built the Tantrum. The enormous 9.0-liter Mercury Racing twin-turbo V8 engine produces an astronomical 1,650 horsepower and transmits its power to a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission driven that is simply stunning.
As for the custom-built chassis, SpeedKore integrated a roll cage into the Tantrum’s structure. The whole thing sits on a pair of 19-inch HRE S104 wheels up front and 20-inch wheels out back. Adding to the mix are 14-inch Baer brakes and premium Penske coilovers.
SpeedKore tends to wrap its masterpieces in all-carbon bodywork, and the Tantrum is no exception. The majestic panels are joined by a new aluminum grille and LED lighting, but you may be disappointed to learn that the legendary hidden headlights are no longer part of the design. Finally, the marvel was finished with a beautiful black-faced paint job.
And nobody will mistake the Tantrum for just another janky hotrod. The Tantrum’s interior is far beyond anything offered from the factory, and paired with the attention to detail everywhere else, it’s easy to imagine it as one hell of a daily driver.
