2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker specifications

The real Dodge

Already in the early days of the Musclacar era, the Dodge Challenger was equipped with an optional extra that still causes a sensation today, mainly because of its appearance: the Shaker air scoop. In contrast to many other scoops common at that time, this one was not mounted on the hood, but sat directly on the air filter and the hood had a large cutout at this point. By this measure it was not only guaranteed that the engine was permanently supplied with cool fresh air, but by the rigid mounting on the air filter the hood followed also each vibration and each movement of the engine, which is naturally an absolute eyecatcher.

In 2014 Dodge took up this idea again and offered the Challenger R/T as a shaker edition in a limited edition of only 2000 pieces, so it is actually an old hat that Dodge added another shaker edition to the program for the 2015 model year. But it’s not quite like that, because there are some pleasant differences to the limited edition of 2014. First things first: The production number is not limited for the 2015 model year – everyone who wants to have a Shaker Edition can order it. In contrast to the 2014 model year, the shaker air scoop was not only available for the 5.7 liter Hemi engine, but could also be ordered for the 392 Scat Pack with the 6.4 liter Hemi V8.
