The real Ford Mustang RTR Hoonicorn V2
As the name Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2 suggests, this 1418 horsepower perversion of a 1965 Mustang is already the second step on the evolutionary staircase of the pony car.
The original version of the Ford Mustang converted for professional drifter Ken Block housed a 6.7-liter V8. Even as a naturally aspirated car, the powerhouse produced a massive 850 horsepower, coupled to a home-built all-wheel drive system – unique!
Now, however, the Ford Mustang celebrates a more than violent comeback as a Hoonicorn V2: The engine remains, but the builders have given the V8 two Garrett turbochargers and a methanol injection. Makes 1418 hp! The powerhouse ejects its exhaust gases just behind the compressors: Thus, the Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2 is not only so hot in the proverbial sense that marshmallows can be roasted at the flame-emitting tailpipe.
“This car is by far the scariest thing I’ve ever driven,” admits driver and owner Ken Block on Facebook. He’s already looking forward to taming the elemental force of the Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2 in the new Gymkhana 9.
