McLaren Artura Specifications

The real McLaren Artura

The special feature of the McLaren Artura is the electric motor between the biturbo V6 and the all-new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It contributes 95 hp and 225 Nm of torque to the system output of 680 hp and 720 Newton meters. It can even power the Artura on its own – for up to 30 kilometers and at around 120 km/h. That should be enough to drive the Artura in the future as well. That should be enough to reach the luxury loft in the burner-free metropolis in the future.

The Artura stores electricity in a lithium-ion battery with a net capacity of 7.4 kWh. The Artura also recuperates energy during thrust/braking phases while driving. Unlike in the limited-edition Ultimate sports cars P1 and Speedtail, however, no battery designed for power with high power density is used, but cells designed for daily driving with high energy density.

The result of this new drive philosophy at McLaren should be not only low consumption values but also a new driving experience with even more direct responsiveness. The Brit:ins promise a three-second sprint time from zero to 100 mph and a top speed of 330 km/h.

But it’s not just straight ahead that’s fast; the Artura is also said to be at the forefront of lateral dynamics – not least thanks to a rear-axle e-differential installed for the first time and the new aero concept. This relies primarily on downforce by means of a Venturi effect via air conductors in the underbody and a rear diffuser instead of a wing unit. Despite the new, heavy technology, McLaren remains true to its lightweight credo and gives the McLaren Artura a DIN weight of just 1498 kilograms.
