Aston Martin V12 Speedster DBR1 Specifications
Real life V12 Speedster DBR1
With the uncompromising Aston Martin V12 Speedster, the British carmaker is following in the footsteps of its own traditions.
For the roadster without a windshield, the British were inspired by their own racing history as well as aviation technology. Specifically, the shapes refer to legends like the 1959 Le Mans winner DBR1, or the 1953 DB3S.
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster draws on only the finest technology from the house. This includes the aluminum structure and carbon chassis. Structurally, the Speedster has elements of both the DBS Superleggera and the Vantage. The Vantage kinship is readily apparent at the rear, where the continuous light bar runs over a central hump.
As the name suggests, a twelve-cylinder engine powers the two-seater. We know the 5.2-liter unit from the DB11 and DBS Superleggera. Under the uniquely shaped hood of the Speedster, it delivers 700 hp and 753 Nm of torque. Power transmission to the rear axle is handled by an eight-speed automatic from ZF.
The sports car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is expected to be 300 km/h in the vehicle registration document. But before stones fly at the occupants’ heads at record speed, helmet use is advisable. The British company plans to deliver only 88 Aston Martin V12 Speedsters to solvent customers from 2021 for at least 765,000 euros.
The CSR2 Aston Martin V12 Speedster DBR1
The 5 purple star Aston can fit 135 Fusion parts. So far nothing special. The V12 Speedster DBR1 should run 7.174s. To sum up, the Aston Martin is one of the faster cars in Tier 5.
