Aston Martin brought a tradition back to life. The successor to the Vanquish was again called the DBS – DBS Superleggera. Aston Martin gave it’S former top model a mighty “honeycomb”-style radiator grille and large air intakes in the front apron. Additional downforce was provided by a front splitter molded from carbon. The slightly different shaped headlights basically use the Vantage’s lamp graphics. The front-hinged hood had two huge air intakes to supply the 5.2-liter V12 with enough fresh air. From the side, the long, low roofline stood out. Wheelhouse vents were located in the area of the front wheel arches.
Under the hood, the Brits rely on a V12 – not a naturally aspirated engine, but a V12 biturbo. In the new DBS Superleggera, the 5.2-liter engine produces 725 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) takes 3.4 seconds, and the top speed is 340 km/h (155.14 mph).
The power unit is transmitted via an eight-speed automatic transmission from supplier ZF, which is installed in transaxle design. The DBS is already equipped as standard with an adaptive chassis that can be adjusted at the touch of a button. The following modes are available: GT, Sport and Sport Plus. In addition to the damper characteristics, the throttle response also changes depending on the mode. The base price la at 274,995 euros, in fall 2018.
