The real LB Works Honda NSX
With hips that won’t quit and a butt for days, this Liberty Walk NSX was the showstopper at SEMA 2017.
The second-generation Honda NSX took an impressively long nine years to develop.
Even in automotive terms, that’s a ridiculously long time. The Lexus LFA held the crown of most anticipated supercar. Its development took so long that you had to start from scratch halfway through when you realized the game had moved on while you weren’t looking. But the NSX? Honda wanted to make damn sure they got it right.
As you can see, these are impressive shoes to fill. The original NSX has rightfully entered the pantheon of icons – the first supercar to democratize the genre and make supercars suitable for everyday use. It forced Ferrari to rethink their ideas, and every modern high-performance car is in its debt. Ayrton Senna himself was instrumental in its development. So the new NSX had to be a sort of Senna Mark Two – and not like a lousy Bruno Senna, but a real champion.
It was worth the wait, though, wasn’t it? A beautiful thing it is. Of course, we’re not dealing with standard cars here, and luckily there’s a world of crazies out there willing to spend big bucks on a new and exclusive car, then immediately rip it to shreds and be the first to build something incredible on the platform.
