How much the Chiron Super Sport 300+ differs from its technical basis – the “normal” Chiron known since 2016 – apart from the power increased by 100 to now 1600 hp, is made clear especially by the rear end. Designed as a so-called longtail, the French carmaker has lengthened the body for an insane speed record and aerodynamically optimized it.
Thanks to the aerodynamic optimizations, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ generates such a high level of downforce that even at top speeds of over 400 km/h no rear spoiler is required. But the goal was even more!
This is why so-called air curtains adorn the front of the Chiron Super Sport 300+. They let off to the side the excess pressure that could develop at the front air intakes and lift the car. The same applies to the air outlets on the wheel arches and behind the front wheels. They also increase downforce.
Equipped with magnesium rims and reinforced Michelin tires, racing driver Andy Wallace drove the black bullet made of visible carbon over the incredible mark of 300 mph at the VW test track in Ehra-Lessien. Expressed in kilometers per hour: 490.484 km/h! With the record of having built the fastest hyper sports car in the world, the developers have once again pushed the limits of what is possible. At that time, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ rolled out to 30 selected customers at a price of 3.5 million euros.
