The real Cayenne Turbo GT
640 hp and 850 Newton meters are listed in the data sheet of the 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine in the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Which is 90 hp and 80 NM more than the current Cayenne Turbo, and only 40 hp are now missing from the plug-in of the Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Above all, however, it’s 40 hp more than the Audi RS Q8 and only ten less than the Lamborghini Urus. And since the latter’s V8 engine is built together with the Cayenne engine in Zuffenhausen, it was a matter of honor for the Porsche team.
Just 3.3 seconds for the standard sprint and a top speed of 300 km/h – these figures are impressive in themselves. But when you get behind the wheel, it’s hard not to be amazed: the stately weight seems to evaporate and the laws of physics are forgotten as soon as even a shadow of your little toe falls on the big accelerator pedal.
While the titanium exhaust roars at high frequency and the matte silver of the two imposing pipes turns blue, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT storms away like an angry rhinoceros that wants to ram its horn into the rear of every SUV that has dared to get into the left lane in front of it-including the Urus. As long as you’re not on a very very long straight on an empty highway, or even better on the Döttinger Höhe (Racetrack in Germany), where the Lamborghini can actually deliver the slightly higher top speed, the Porsche can’t be shaken off, but passes by with a defiant grin.
