The real Ferrari 599XX Evo
Compared with the conventional Ferrari 599XX, the Evolution package offers even more power in the form of 750 hp. Ferrari added a modified aerodynamics package with an active rear wing and reduced the vehicle weight further. It is a true racing machine with the latest technologies from GT and Formula 1 research.
Key to the aerodynamics package is the active rear wing design. The new innovative concept called “Opening Gap” is based on the following parameters: Steering wheel angle, longitudinal acceleration, lateral acceleration and vehicle speed. The wing has two flaps with profiles similar to those used in Formula 1.
The electronically controlled rotation of the flaps regulates downforce on the front and rear axles in relation to vehicle speed and movement. This concept results in improved performance when cornering.
The side exhaust system allowed engineers to increase the power of the 6.0-liter V12 engine by 20 hp to 750 hp at 9,000 rpm, while maximum torque grew to 700 Nm. Together with the largest gear ratio, which is slightly smaller, improved acceleration takes place on technical medium-fast and fast race tracks.
