But it is only in practice that the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS (2017) really becomes the 911 of extremes: for it is not the powerful engine alone that shoots it into new spheres. It’s the combination of sheer endless power, the radical lightweight construction, and a chassis with almost perpetual grip that threatens to rob you of your senses. No matter how fast you take the curves and how tight the radii – this car doesn’t care about physics and knows no limit to its grip.
And if things do get tight, the ceramic discs have a slight delay, obviously. But it’s still somehow enough in the end. You only have to drive this car for a few minutes. Then you’ll have no doubt why the 911 GT2 RS made the fastest Nordschleife lap for road-going sports cars at the time. With a record time of 6:47.3 minutes and made its way to the top of the leaderboard.
