Porsche GT2 RS Specifications
Real life Porsche GT2 RS CSR2
Porsche wouldn’t be Porsche and the 911 wouldn’t be the 911 if there wasn’t always a little bit more. Whether it’s an everyday car or a sports car for the masses, a dream car or a status symbol, a power cruiser or a precision weapon for full-throttle fetishists. In over 50 years, the Porsche 911 has covered almost every niche you can imagine for a sports car.
With its 700 hp and 750 Nm in the rear, a somewhat ordinary sports car became a super sports car. This car that laughs at every Lamborghini and cheekily shows every Ferrari its huge carbon wing like an outstretched middle finger. From zero to 100 in 2.8 seconds and over 340 km/h at full throttle. These are unusual dimensions even for Porsche drivers.
But it is only in practice that the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS (2017) really becomes the 911 of extremes: for it is not the powerful engine alone that shoots it into new spheres. It’s the combination of sheer endless power, the radical lightweight construction, and a chassis with almost perpetual grip that threatens to rob you of your senses. No matter how fast you take the curves and how tight the radii – this car doesn’t care about physics and knows no limit to its grip.
And if things do get tight, the ceramic discs have a slight delay, obviously. But it’s still somehow enough in the end. You only have to drive this car for a few minutes. Then you’ll have no doubt why the 911 GT2 RS made the fastest Nordschleife lap for road-going sports cars at the time. With a record time of 6:47.3 minutes and made its way to the top of the leaderboard.
