RWB (RAUH WELT BEGRIFF) is a Porsche tuner based in Japan, founded by Akira Nakai. He combines Japanese and Euro tuning elements to create the distinctive RWB style for Porsche chassis. Founded as a small store in the country, RWB is now an internationally renowned company not only on the various race tracks.
A few years ago, there was a hype in the international tuning scene about so-called “bolt-on wideners”. These are basically extra fenders that are bolted onto the wheel arches. The king of this design is tuner Akira Nakai. For over 20 years, he has been traveling the globe with his toolbox to give Porsche classics his very exclusive look.
The starting material is always a Porsche 911 – air-cooled. Nakai and his colleagues at RAUH-Welt Begriff simply don’t touch other models. Of course, the wide body kit is by no means free. That’s why a bank account that’s still well-filled even after the 911 purchase is also a prerequisite for the prominent conversion. And even money alone is of no use if Nakai-san doesn’t feel any good vibrations towards the client. In other words, you have to be likeable to the master.
