AMG GT Black Series Specifications

The real Mercedes

The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (2020) continues the tradition of the “black” top models of the respective model series at prices starting at 335,240 Euro. The last time the legendary series appeared was in 2013 with the SLS AMG Black Series.

At the time, the gullwing model offered all that was technically feasible in order to deliver maximum performance. Its power-to-weight ratio was a remarkable 2.45 kilograms per hp. The highlight under the hood was the V8, which had increased to 631 hp.

The new Black Series now not only hits the same mark, but also goes one better. The Affalterbach developers have pulled out all the stops for this: The new engine is based on the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo with dry sump lubrication, delivers a full 730 hp and has a maximum torque of 800 Newton meters. This makes it the most powerful AMG V8 production engine of all time.

The only thing that is actually more fascinating than the engine itself is what it does with the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (2020). From a standing start, it catapults the two-door car to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and to 200 km/h in less than nine seconds. From there it continues on to a maximum of 325 km/h. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. As in the GT R, the GT Black Series features an AMG coil-over suspension with adjustable spring preload, combined with AMG Ride Control adaptive variable damping.

The CSR2 AMG GT Black Series

The 5 yellow star AMG can fit 128 Fusion parts. So far nothing special. The Benz should run 7.781s. To sum up, the AMG GT is not one of the fastest cars in Tier 5.
