The real Griffith
At the Goodwood Revival, on 8 September 2017, to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the brand, the new Griffith was unveiled.
It features a Cosworth modified Ford Coyote 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 500 hp (507 hp; 373 kW), double wishbone suspension with adjustable coilover dampers and a carbon-fibre floor effect chassis. The Griffith accelerates from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in about 4 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 322 km/h (200 mph). Obviously a fast car.
The new Griffith retains the manual transmission used in previous TVR models, making it a true driver’s car. To handle the high power and keep the car stable at high speeds, the TVR is equipped with standard ABS, power steering and traction control. The extensive use of carbon fibre helps to reduce weight, so the car weighs less than 1,250 kg. The 50:50 weight distribution of the Griffith improves handling. Aarchitecture of aluminium and carbon fibre components made this possible.
