The real Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

Since the second quarter of 2020, well-heeled fresh air enthusiasts can take the most beautiful roads in the world under their noble wheels with 510 HP. The four-liter AMG V8, which is also used in the Coupé, whips the fresh-air Brit from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, applying 685 Newton meters of torque.

The fact that it takes just 0.1 second longer than the coupé version in the sprint to 100 is due to the newly developed soft top construction. This means that the Vantage Roadster weighs only 60 kilograms more than the coupé. With the soft top closed it has a top speed of over 300 km/h.

The Vantage Roadster’s new fabric soft top not only ensures sporty driving performance, but also preserves the beautiful line. It has a remarkably tight cut, while its structure is reinforced and equipped with a rollover protection system. The lightweight soft top folds so tightly in a Z-shape that even when the top is open there is still room for 200 liters of storage space under the trunk lid. Up to a speed of 50 km/h, it can also be opened and closed easily in under seven seconds.

With its unchanged appearance below the belt, the Vantage Roadster is in no way inferior to its coupé brother in terms of appearance. This also applies to the interior, which is covered with leather over a large area and features elegantly designed controls in the center console. As in the coupé, buttons replace the gear selector lever. With the large shift paddles behind the steering wheel, the driver can shift through the eight speeds of the ZF automatic transmission.
