Good news for friends of the Nürburgring Nordschleife: A long-awaited lap time has now been driven and officially confirmed: The Lexus LFA with the Nürburgring Package clocked an extremely fast 7:14:62 minutes. If the Lexus LFA is already in the basic version one of the most expensive cars you can buy, the Nürburgring Edition adds the price of an upper class sedan.
Driver Akira Iida set a lap time of 7:14:64 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The record-breaking car was a Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition: the edition model comes with a complete carbon body kit, a retuned suspension and a re-tuned 6-speed manual transmission. The 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine was not left untouched either, but with ten additional horsepower to now 419 kW / 570 hp it received rather little revision. However, you have to be able to afford the complete package: Lexus is charging an additional $70,000. Considering the base model’s price of $375,000, that’s not that much more money.
