When you mention the name Arrinera Hussarya, you usually get a helpless shrug of the shoulders or raised eyebrows. The Polish company Arrinera is still a rookie among carmakers, yet it wants to bring a super sports car to the streets of this world.
Arrinera is a neologism combining the Basque word ‘Arintzea’ – meaning streamlined – with the Italian word for ‘true’ – ‘Vero’. ‘Hussarya’ is an ode to the legendary Polish cavalry – the Hussars, who were considered invincible for 125 years. Sales have not started yet, but already there is a GT version of the Hussarya.
Poland is not really associated with professional car production. Especially not with the development and production of super sports cars. And yet there is the Arrinera Hussarya. A sports coupé powered by a 6.2 liter Corvette V8 engine with 650 hp and 810 Newton meters, which shines with driving performance otherwise known from Ferrari, Lamborghini & Co. The Hussarya needs just 3.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. The Arrinera reaches it’s top speed in 8.9 seconds and the 200 mark in just 8.9 seconds. The top speed is a proud 340 km/h.
The coupé owes its low weight of just 1.3 metric tons to its flunder-like flat carbon fiber body, which measures just 1.19 meters. According to the manufacturer, an initial 100 units are planned, to be sold at a price of around 120,000 euros. If you compare the prices of the competitors directly, this sum is a real bargain.
