Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 specifications
The Camaro is a pony car of the US-American car brand Chevrolet. According to Chevrolet, the name “Camaro” is derived from the French word camarade.
The world-famous sporty car originated as a rival to the Ford Mustang. The Mustang was extremely successful in the mid-1960s, and a typical representative of the pony cars. However, powerful SS models and the Z28 also belong to the muscle cars.
The standard engine of the Camaro was always a large-volume V8 engine beyond 200 hp (147 kW). Also offered were in-line six-cylinder, later V6 engines, in the 1980s also in-line four-cylinder, were the entry level and, in addition to the smaller V8 engines, the basis.
What a surprise: At the New York Auto Show in late March, Chevrolet not only unveiled the facelifted Camaro for the 2014 model year, but also a new model, the Z28! The Americans have thus revived a true sports car icon that had its debut in the 1967 model year. In contrast to the old Z28, however, the new one has a large-volume LS7 engine with 7.0 litre displacement and 507 hp. This comes from the Corvette Z06. 19″ wheels with 305/30ZR19 tyres bring the power, which is distributed by a manual gearbox as standard, to the road.
