M2 Competition specifications

The real BMW M2

The BMW M2 Competition rolled onto the starting line in 2018 with a more powerful engine and readjusted sports suspension. In return, M GmbH is relying on the power of its big siblings for the successor to the previous M2.

From the M3/M4, the M2 gets the three-liter six-cylinder inline engine. As a result, the technical data now show 410 instead of 370 hp. Up to 550 Newton meters tear at the rear wheels. The new unit can still be ordered as a classic manual or with a dual clutch and is started by a red start button, which is also used in the M5, for example.

The M2 can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the previous model with 370 hp. Top speed is a governed 250 km/h, unless you order the Driver’s Package. Then the BMW M2 Competition (2018) can go up to 280 km/h.

The M2 Competition benefits from a revised chassis with new springs and anti-roll bars. Tighter characteristic curves for the adaptive suspension, the rear axle differential and the DSC electronic stability program add another notch to the already extremely superior cornering dynamics.
